Our colleague, Evghenia Vasilenco, is a Business Development Manager in our Corporate Sales Department who in her free time is passionate about singing and playing the guitar.

At a young age she was introduced to the piano by her grandmother so whenever Evghenia visited her, she was always eager to play. She also started to play the guitar. She was always drawn to music, it always felt like home whenever things got tough in life and, being an introvert, she found it was the easiest way to express herself.

The first steps she made to take music more seriously was when she joined a band and played the electronic keyboard for several years with her schoolmates. They mainly covered Russian and English pop music from the 80s and Evghenia remembers those times filled with lots of fun memories.

Later, Evghenia formed a band of her own called Sound of Heaven and, with more freedom to be creative and experiment with music, they wrote original songs as well as playing covers of Jimmy Hendrix tracks and those of other outstanding rock musicians. During that time, she switched to playing the acoustic guitar and was lead vocal. It was an exciting time of many rehearsals, goose bumps before and after they played concerts and lots of late evenings with a guitar, a pen and a piece of paper.

As the years have gone by, Evghenia has had to switch her focus onto other things but now still occasionally plays the guitar and sings for herself and her friends.
