At DevelopmentAid, we place a strong focus on supporting local initiatives that reflect our values and ambitions. For instance, this March we’ve supported BEST Chisinau, a student organisation that is part of UTM. This group aims to complement local youth’s education with practical and career-oriented knowledge, along with challenging them to become better. Every year, BEST hosts the largest European engineering competition called EBEC – European BEST Engineering Competition.

Within this event, participants face two types of challenges: the case study and team design stages. During the case study, the students demonstrate their analytical and presentation skills while solving a real-life problem. Next up, the team design stage implies team work on a 3D prototype sketch that fulfils set requirements. You can check out more details on the official page of the event here.

Nevertheless, participants also had the chance to interact with partner companies through organised trainings. From DevelopmentAid’s side, Andrian Moraresco (IT Development Director) and Anastasia Pendus (HR Director) hosted a session called “From a Student to an Employee in IT. How to Turn your Internship into a Job”. This training offered actionable insights for those willing to progress with their IT careers and pursue a path in this area.

We would like to sincerely congratulate all students that have taken part in EBEC 2021 and wish them great luck in their further careers! Likewise, we’d like to extend our best regards to BEST Chisinau, with whom we have had the pleasure of collaborating. This is certainly not our last partnership, as supporting talented and promising youth is at the core of what DevelopmentAid believes in. After all, they are the specialists of the future 🙂
